The Certified Green option is aimed at those events or activities that wish to demonstrate their commitment towards reducing and managing their social and environmental impacts. 

 

It requires effective and demonstrable reductions in energy, water and emissions and management of waste, waste recovery and recycling practices.

 

As part of this category, the organiser's would be required to apply for certification at the planning or implementation phase of the event, and to providing accurate data on all resource consumption and waste levels throughout the event.

 

The Heritage Eco-Event team will monitor the planning, development and implementation phases of the event to ensure that the organisers have identified and recognised their environmental impacts throughout this phase.  During the event, Heritage will be on-site to evaluate the effectiveness of the systems and procedures that have been applied. At the end of the event, a close-out meeting is held with the organisers to provide feedback on their performance and on ways to improve performance for future events.
